Senior Java Developer – Hybrid in Phoenix, AZ
$120,000 + Full Benefits Package
Start Date: Targeting July 14

Davis Technology Management is looking for a seasoned Senior Java Developer to join one of our long-term enterprise clients in Phoenix. This is a full-time W2 consulting role that includes full medical benefits, PTO, and paid holidays. The project supports a large portfolio of applications with varied tech stacks. If you're comfortable with legacy Java, experienced in modern frameworks, and not afraid to dive into production support, keep reading!

What You’ll Be Doing:

You’ll join a tight-knit team (3 on-site, 4 offshore) supporting and enhancing a suite of 10+ enterprise applications. Some are modern, some are legacy. You’ll code, debug, support, and collaborate, especially with AWS and relational databases. This is not a lead role, but we’re looking for someone who can bring solid experience to the table and integrate seamlessly into a hybrid team.

A Week in the Life:

• Build and maintain Java-based backend services using Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JPA

• Jump into production issues when needed and help triage or fix them

• Work on a variety of applications, from Java 8 to Java 11, with some serverless in the mix

• Collaborate with business users and tech teammates to understand what’s needed and how to build it

• Use AWS tools like EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudWatch to deploy and monitor apps

• Occasionally contribute to the front end with React (nice to have, not a must)

• Participate in code reviews, deployments, and process improvement

What We’re Looking For:

• 6+ years of hands-on development experience

• Strong core Java and J2EE background, including Spring, Spring Boot, and related frameworks

• Comfortable with relational databases (Oracle + PL/SQL)

• Some exposure to AWS services, especially in an enterprise environment

• Familiarity with modern development tools: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Tomcat

• Willingness to handle production support (no handholding here)

• Good communicator who works well with on-site and offshore teams

Bonus Points For:

• Experience modernizing legacy Java apps with Spring Boot + React

• Building serverless applications using AWS Lambda

• Knowledge of AWS CodePipeline and other DevOps tools
