Role Overview:
The Senior Associate, UW Automation Enablement supports enterprise underwriting modernization by enabling and underwriting automation performance monitoring.
This role independently manages monitoring and insight generation activities, synthesizes data across multiple sources, and identifies opportunities to improve automation outcomes. The individual partners across underwriting, product, data science, and operations to deliver actionable insights, support rule and model enhancements, and strengthen end-to-end underwriting performance.
What You’ll Do:
• Independently monitor UW automation performance across products, cohorts, and distribution channels to identify trends, leakage, and friction points
• Analyze underwriting automation performance, including rules and models, to assess alignment between intended design and observed outcomes
• Generate actionable insights and recommendations to improve automation rates, case flow efficiency, and underwriting outcomes
• Own development and enhancement of underwriting rules by contributing business, risk, and operational insights
• Partner with underwriting, actuarial, and data science teams to support testing, validation, and implementation of automation solutions
• Collaborate with Production Support to investigate and resolve issues impacting underwriting automation, including recurring defects and workflow disruptions
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment by translating complex data into clear, audience-appropriate insights
• Develop and maintain consistent reporting, dashboards, and documentation to support monitoring and governance routines
• Lead working sessions and forums to support development continuous improvement solutions within our automated underwriting workflow
What You’ll Bring:
• 5-10 years of life insurance underwriting experience, with strong knowledge of risk assessment and decision frameworks
• Experience driving process automation with rules engines, predictive models, or decision platforms
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent professional experience)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and identify trends and insights
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment and influence without direct authority
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry designations such as FLMI, FALU, or equivalent
- Experience working in Agile or product-based delivery environments
- Experience partnering closely with data science and actuarial teams
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $111,500-$159,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
