Associate Manager, New Store Openings

Warby Parker is on the lookout for an Associate Manager of New Store Openings (NSO) to lead the full launch process for new retail locations in your region and beyond. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring operational excellence, driving cross-functional collaboration, and managing the end-to-end NSO process—from pre-opening preparation to post-opening follow-ups. You’ll work closely with the Retail Operations, Construction, Supply Chain, and field teams to create a seamless store launch experience. 

This role will be based out of our New York City HQ and report directly to the Director of Retail Operations. Approximately 80% of your time will be focused on pre-work, project management, and coordination with field teams and HQ partners to ensure every store opens smoothly and successfully. The remaining 20% will support the Retail Operations team in driving store operational improvements that benefit store growth, collaborating on projects that enhance efficiency and contributing to broader operational initiatives across the fleet. What you’ll do:

• Oversee 20–25 NSOs per year, remotely managing end-to-end execution alongside Store Leaders (SL) on the ground
• Host kick-off calls and establish weekly NSO planning meetings to align on priorities with partners from the Retail Ops, Marketing, and Construction teams
• Confirm and facilitate operational specifics, including operating hours, property manager introductions, and site-specific details
• Act as a primary point of contact for weekly store development calls, leading communication with District Leaders (DL), Area Leaders (AL), Store Leaders, and HQ partners before and during store openings
• Partner with the Supply Chain, Brand, Visuals, and Lab teams to ensure that all NSO supplies and products arrive on time and are properly checked in
• Manage key system setup processes, including software integration, Google Doc creation, and vendor account creation
• Support store turnover, operational setup, and dress rehearsals, and provide hands-on assistance throughout opening weekends
• In partnership with DLs, support the training district support leads to execute orientation and dress rehearsal with store team
• Collaborate with on-site facilitators, SLs, and ALs/DLs to gather feedback for continuous improvement on NSO execution
• Identify any warranty items with the Retail Facilities and Construction teams through post-opening reviews with field leaders
• Sometimes need to travel to support single-store market growth

Who you are:

• A current Warby Parker Retail employee in good standing who has served in a Store Leader position for at least six months

• Not on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)

Extra credit:

• Experience with NSO training and/or store setup (at Warby Parker or elsewhere)
• Strong proficiency in Google Suite tools

Warby Parker may pay more or less than the posted range based on factors such as relevant experience and skills, qualifications and location, among others. This range may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, this role is also eligible to receive a cash bonus and an equity bonus as part of the total compensation package.
