Overview

The Domestic Operations Trainer is responsible for facilitating an engaging and interactive operations training program for our new and existing teammates. In this role, the trainer is responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of operational processes, systems, and product knowledge. The trainer assists in the development of training content, continuously evaluates training effectiveness, and makes recommendations for improvement. The trainer acts as mentor to new teammates and supports them in their development.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the live, instructor led courses on a consistent and regular schedule each week (approx. 20 hours per week).
• Maintain proficient knowledge of AIT Domestic Operational knowledge, systems & processes.
• Partner with the Corporate Training Team to develop the program curriculum, content, job aids & activities.
• Constant Focus on continuous improvement: researching best practices, learning & development tools & methods, creative interactive activity ideas etc... Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of the Operational Onboarding Training Program throughfeedback and evaluation to continuously improve learning experience.. Suggest adjustments to improve.
• Act as mentor to participants in each training program, ensuring their success not only during the program but in the days/weeks/months afterwards.
• Manage and report on virtual trainings in LMS which supplement the live instructor led trainings.
• Assist in assessing, communicating, and coordinating the new hire onboarding experience and provide feedback and suggestions to hiring managers for the continued teammate onboarding and development of their new teammate.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with teammates, subject matter experts and leaders across theorganization.
• Assist Operations Training Manager with other AIT Training Initiatives, as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned

• The wage range for this position is $71,700.00-$107,544.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience

Qualifications

Education• High School Diploma (Required) or• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred) Experience• 5+ years Domestic Freight Forwarding experience (Required) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Experience training new employees a plus High• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with speaking in front of a large group of people High• Patience working with new hires that all have different experience levels and learning abilities High• Proficient understanding of all Domestic Ops processes including customer service, door to door routing, tracking, and billing. Medium• Can drive understanding (i.e., using visual aids, able to recognize when a group or individual is lost and needs more attention. Medium• Ability to effectively describe complicated ideas to different audiences (with different learning styles) Medium• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook Medium• Analytical & Process minded, able to break down complex concepts into easily digestible steps Medium• Deadline focused, organized and able to prioritize multiple projects Medium• Exceptional attendance record Medium• Demonstrates a positive “can do” demeanor and has fun and gains energy from working with others. High Licenses and Certifications• CargoWise (Preferred)
