The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 work assignments will impact both Medicare and Medicaid and are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.The Business Intelligence Engineer II describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data to create insightful and actionable business information. This individual understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. This individual makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. This individual follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience with SQL and Access
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.
- Experience auditing large data sets (millions of rows of data) and mining for errors
- Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis
Work-At-Home Requirements
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
- Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- Experience in Azure or other data systems
- Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques and automation
- Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions
