Job Description

As a Virtual Medical Assistant, you’ll be the cornerstone of patient communication and administrative efficiency for this dynamic endocrinology practice. You’ll manage the clinic’s front-line operations remotely, ensuring smooth patient flow and seamless coordination with healthcare providers. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your medical knowledge and administrative skills in a virtual setting, contributing significantly to patient care and clinic growth. You’ll handle everything from appointment scheduling to insurance verifications, becoming an integral part of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Answer patient calls promptly, addressing inquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Manage the clinic’s appointment schedule, optimizing patient flow and minimizing wait times
  • Coordinate with primary care physicians to obtain necessary patient documents
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for upcoming appointments
  • Assist with insurance-related tasks, including prior authorizations
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Perform administrative duties to support overall clinic operations
  • Utilize medical office software and scheduling systems efficiently


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a medical receptionist or virtual assistant in U.S. healthcare
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. health insurance systems and prior authorization processes
  • Strong grasp of HIPAA regulations and unwavering commitment to patient privacy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in medical office software and scheduling platforms
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills for remote work
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, particularly in endocrinology (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team communication
  • Customer service-oriented with a patient-first mindset
