Investment Bank - Front Office Support

 

Top investment bank requires a Senior Support Analyst to join their Reg Tech division supporting the Risk Technology Suite Applications. The group looks after GBAM (Global Banking and Markets) Finance Applications and the Risks within their group. The Finance Production Team are a dedicated team to oversee front office regulation (FRTB), liquidity, market risk, looking at sub ledger Risk, Equities and FICC (Markets), auditing, reconciling, confirming P&L and pricing risk and confirming the risk against any public finance report.

 

Responsibilities:

• Track, fix and report all issues raised by users globally
• Manage major incidents ensuring timely communications and working collaboratively with Technology and Infrastructure partners to restore services
• Work with Problem Management team to sure root cause determined and remediation actions identified and tracked to completion
• Liaise with the development team with regards to required changes/upgrades to these applications across a large user base to ensure
• Partner with Infrastructure teams to support the rollout of non-functional change
• Using SQL / Oracle to apply process throttling during peak periods and prioritise transactions
• Maintain algorithms in ITRS making sure they conform to current alerting requirements
• Use scripting language such as Unix, Python to automate repetitive production support tasks
• Foster strong relationships with key business stakeholders
• Develop a deep understanding of the business needs and strategic directions.
• Provide subject matter expertise for support of risk applications
• Investigation of root cause analysis and corrective action

 

Skills:

• Hands-on experience in supporting client applications and close interaction with the business users and application teams within financial industry, and preferably in the risk space.
• Good Knowledge of supporting a heterogeneous environment with in-house solutions based in Java, UNIX Shell scripts, Perl, Python, .NET and IIS.
• Good knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems is a must.
• Good knowledge of Sybase, SQL Server, or similar DBMS is a must, and good experience in articulating and handling performance issues typically seen in very large databases.
• Knowledge of batch automation
• Understanding of the Service Support and Delivery disciplines. Aware of the importance for incident, problem and change management procedures for day to day support activities.
