About the Unit
The Pharmacy Department provides pharmacy services for Inpatients, ED, Surgery, and the Infusion Center at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital.
Scope of Work
- Prepares supplies / medication under the direction of a Pharmacist.
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging.
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas under direct supervision of a pharmacist per federal and state law.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications, controlled substances and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas.
- Triages phone calls and messages
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications. Completes all Spectrum Health assigned competencies by assigned due dates.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Retail or hospital pharmacy experience Preferred
- LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan 1 Year required
- CRT-Pharmacy Technician, Certified (CPHT) - PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Excludes - LIC-Pharmacist Intern 1 Year required
Ideal candidate will possess both Full Pharmacy Technician License and Certification, such as PTCB Certification, or ExCPT
IV, Compounding, or Inpatient experience would be a strong plus
This is a Full Time, On-Site Position, that is primarily 1st Shift and rotates to 2nd, Shifts are usually 8.5 Hrs., and Start Times are scatted between 6 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.
This Team puts out the Schedule about 4-6 Weeks in advance
