Job description
NYLAG's Immigrant Protection Unit (IPU) seeks an experienced administrative professional to manage our contracts and analyze and track our performance to ensure responsive and effective structures that support programming that is responsive to community need. This is a newly-created position and an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of programming and operations. This position will report to a Supervising Attorney and work closely with IPU’s senior leadership team including the Director and two Associate Directors. The Supervising Paralegal will be a key point of contact for funders and formal partners, working closely with IPU leadership, NYLAG’s Vice President, Development, and Finance, to allow seamless relaying on information on IPU programming, referral streams, services provided, staffing structure, and contract performance as well as analyzing and suggesting adaptations to ensure our service delivery remains at the highest caliber.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Work strategically alongside IPU’s Director and Associate Directors to provide oversight on staffing and contract performance in furtherance of NYLAG’s and IPU's mission.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information across the breadth of IPU contracts and grants regarding scopes of work, deliverables, requirements, and staffing levels.
- Analyze contract performance throughout contract time period, and in coordination with IPU leadership, development, and finance, adapt programming and allocations as needed.
- Assist with oversight for triaging intakes and intaked case matters to ensure appropriate data is collected and updated into our systems and clients are connected with the appropriate team.
- Supervise coordinating intake paralegal and oversee intake, including giving advice and consultation where case placement will not be possible.
- In coordination with IPU's Director and Associate Directors, ensure that staff understands the grant deliverables and maintain timely, accurate records through regular staff training and reviews.
- Create and implement workflows for staff and reporting processes to assist with the above.
- Assist with reporting as needed.
- Three years of prior and relevant experience required, preferably working in a community-based organization or immigration legal services setting.
- Prior project management and/or supervisory experience preferred.
- Partial or full DOJ accreditation, or immediate eligibility to apply for accreditation.
- Experience using case management systems, like LegalServer, to track, pull, and analyze data.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Demonstrated experience with statistical descriptive analysis.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders to help problem solve.
- Demonstrated interest in bettering systems to ensure accessibility and responsiveness to communities being served.
- Demonstrated understanding how the law can help advance social, economic, and racial justice for immigrant communities.
