Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Position Overview:

The person in this role will be responsible for deploying and managing highly available infrastructure. This individual will engage in technical research and development to enable continual innovation. They will ensure that systems hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures comply with our security standards and are optimized to allow the business teams to perform their duties uninhibitedly. They will be self-driven, organized, and exhibit impeccable work ethic even in a lively work environment. This position will require rotated 24/7 on-call and after hours/weekend work as needed.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or Infrastructure roles

• Hands on experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments

• Experience with hyper-converged Infrastructure technologies

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security principles

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams

• Experience with monitoring tools (Logicmonitor, Datadog, Zabbix, SolarWinds)

• Experience with automation and scripting (Ansible, Python, Bash, Powershell and Terraform)

• Firewall configuration experience (Sophos, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet)

• Strong problem solving communication and documentation skills

• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator

• Cloud Platforms and a deep knowledge of their services

• Automation and IaC - Terraform, Azure ARM, scripting

• CI/CD Pipelines - Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions

• Monitoring - logging with native tools and third-party solutions

Location Requirement: 

This role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.

• Design, deploy and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure in AWS and Azure

Physical Requirements:

• In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings 
• Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels
• Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches.  Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds
• Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.
• Reading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.
