Job description and tasks:
The position focuses on leading the methodological development, adaptation, implementation, and analysis of the Relief Maps+ digital participatory tool within a project addressing the lived experiences of children and adolescents in mobility exposed to gender-based violence in Morocco and Catalonia. The Research Technician will work under the supervision of Maria Rodo-Zárate. The position will be based at the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona), with regular coordination with partners in Morocco and Catalonia.
Specific Tasks:
● Lead the co-design and contextual adaptation of a specific Relief Maps+ model integrating intersectional, emotional, and spatial approaches, and coordinate its validation with project partners.
● Develop training and support materials, including an ethical user guide, and deliver a 6-hour training programme for 30 professionals in Morocco and Catalonia.
● Coordinate and supervise the participatory implementation of Relief Maps+ with children and adolescents across five territories, ensuring culturally and linguistically adapted facilitation.
● Conduct and supervise semi-structured interviews and ensure compliance with ethical, safeguarding, and informed consent procedures throughout all research phases.
● Lead the qualitative and mixed-methods analysis of the data and organise participatory feedback sessions to share findings and incorporate children’s and adolescents’ perspectives into the analytical process.
Requirements
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, Migration Studies, Gender Studies or related disciplines.
● Proven experience conducting participatory research and fieldwork with children and adolescents, particularly in contexts of mobility and vulnerability in the West Euro-African border.
● Demonstrated expertise in the use, adaptation, implementation, and analysis of the Relief Maps+ methodology.
● Professional experience in the third sector working with migrant populations.
Fluency in English, French, Spanish, and Catalan and Working knowledge of Arabic

Part-time position: The position is a part-time contract, 20h per week. The estimated start of the job is 15, April, 2026. The estimated duration of the tasks is 12 months.
Terms and conditions of the contract
Gross annual salary for a for a 20h contract is:
€21,429.38 approx, with an approximate gross monthly salary of €1,566.07.
Job location: Barcelona, Spain.
Type of Contract – Indefinite according to the provisions of article 23 bis of the Llei 14/2011, from the 1st of June, of science, technology, and innovation.
