About FarmWise:The $17Bn US vegetable farming industry is facing great economic pressure coming from the growing demand for chemical-free food and the recent drop in farm labor supply. FarmWise is building adaptive autonomous robots to farm every plant, every day, for greater yield, better margins, and a healthier environment. Our first prototype is already weeding California farms by looking at and acting on every plant with a purely organic weeding process, thus providing farmers with a superior alternative to existing methods in the field. Job Description:FarmWise is looking for a mid-level technician to perform work, reworks, and repairs on our 9000-pound agricultural machine. Part of your daily tasks will be to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The use of various tools such as hand and power tools, welders (MIG, TIG, Stick), and electrical wiring equipment. 
You will also work with us to test our agricultural machine directly on farms during daily trips, including preparing for field tests, driving and maneuvering our pickup, trailer, and machine on the field and fixing any mechanical issues happening on the farm. 

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of solid field service experience performing installations, preventative maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the causes of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or use test equipment such as engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, and other computer diagnostic tools as required by each task.
• Basic mechanical skills and general knowledge of operating hand tools, portable power tools, and bench tools.
• Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and internal combustion engines is highly desired.
• The ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Remove, replace, adjust, clean and install parts and components such as wheel seals, switches, sensors, fuel pumps, water pumps, power steering pumps, brakes, filters, radiators, bearings, springs, shock absorbers, wheel cylinders, starter motors, mufflers, battery cables, and other items of similar complexity.
• Strong attention to detail, quality focused, organized and willing to learn.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record with the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial driver’s license is required.
• Ability to raise 50lbs objects and sometimes work 12 hour shifts.
• Technical degree, previous repair or welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment is a plus.
