About the position
As a Senior Product Designer in the Product Development team, you will lead the design and development of innovative products that align with our commitment to quality, functionality, and aesthetics. This role requires strong expertise in CAD/CAE, product design principles, and manufacturing processes. The Senior Product Designer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior designers, and play a key role in shaping the future of our product offerings. Your main responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end product design process from concept to production, ensuring designs meet performance and aesthetic goals.
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) tools to create, refine, and optimize product designs.
- Conduct structural, thermal, and mechanical simulations to validate design feasibility.
- Work closely with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to develop cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.
- Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and material selection based on performance, durability, and sustainability.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Assist in prototyping and testing to ensure all products meet Dometic’s quality and performance standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of design iterations, specifications, and processes.
- Support the intellectual property (IP) process by contributing to patent applications where applicable.

- High School diploma or GED; associate degree in design and/or certificate in design strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo.
- Strong experience with CAE tools like ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar for structural and thermal analysis.
- Extensive experience in product design, preferably in consumer goods, automotive, or outdoor living industries.

- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing.
- Strong knowledge of materials and their properties, including plastics, metals, and composites.
- Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey design concepts and solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
