JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Manager, Accounting is responsible for accounting operations and related financial / operational internal controls of the Company. In addition, the Sr. Manager, Accounting is responsible for all internal financial reporting and managing a team of Accountants. This role will be based in Ireland.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage monthly close activities, including preparing or reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations for functional areas such as cash, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals.
- Supervise review of monthly financial statements of designated international entities and performed fluctuation analysis. Control international entities general ledgers and financial statements.
- Ensure that financial statements are kept in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory regulations, and all appropriate records are retained.
- Maintain and monitor an effective, SOX compliant internal control structure. Prepare requested analyses, reports and documentation to ensure efficient internal and external audit processes.
- Oversee the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements.
- Supervise 2 Sr Staff Accountants; provide direction and coaching and share best practices.
- Interface with external and internal auditors, 3PL and/or other relevant service providers.
- Partner with 3rd party resources on Statutory audits, providing required financials and inputs to ensure timely, complete and accurate filings.
- Collaborate with various BioCryst teams and departments to ensure adherence to US GAAP, timely accruals and accounting queries resolution.
- Complete various other ad-hoc analyses as directed by the International Controller and other members of the Finance department.
- Participate in ongoing development of accounting policies and procedures. Contribute in assigned projects and improvements.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance.
- CPA license or European accounting equivalent (ACA, ACCA).
- 7 or more years of experience in a matrix / multinational organization, prior audit experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Results-driven, team-oriented member/leader that is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thorough with an exceptional ability to follow projects through to completion.
- Articulate and professional with excellent people skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office, Oracle and FloQast.
- Fluent English. Other major European language a plus.
