The Company

Job Purpose

The Accountant III is accountable for ensuring day-to-day financial operations are compliant with company policies, legal regulations and adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).  The Accountant III oversight provides first line compliance and ensures our transactional data is accurately and timely processed and financial information is maintained to the highest level of professional standards. This position will be responsible for assisting with developing and implementing efficient and effective procedures and controls for the generation of timely and accurate financial results.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Each day will present you with new challenges and opportunities to test and grow your skills.  As an Accountant III with Modular, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead the team which completes accounts payable, ensuring these transactions are accurate, timely and processed in efficient and effective manners. Accounts Payable oversight including processes for vendor invoice & payment processing, working with purchasing to resolve pain points and improve collaboration between the teams, review payment runs to ensure authorization policy is met and entry is accurate, monitor AP KPIs, 1099 filing, vendor tax exempt forms, non-inventory vendor relations, and ensuring balance between customer service (internal and external) with company policy and procedures. 
  • Cost Accounting activities including inventory management support, Other COS (PPV, Product Variance, Freight, Scrap, etc.) analysis, standard costing, warranty, OBS analysis, labor analysis, and etc., as well as associated budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Assist with preparation of month- and year-end reports for US10 and provide appropriate analysis. Monitor and analyze accounting data and assist with the production of financial reports.
  • Assist in preparation of J-SOX declarations.
  • Become SAP subject matter expert to provide support to corporate and regions.  
  • Assist with maintaining and improving Concur.
  • Other general accounting tasks and projects as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Relevant work experience working with Accounting teams in a for profit company
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations (including tax-related matters)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy while not losing sight of the big picture
  • Ability to lead and motivate others to accomplish team goals and responsibilities

Desired Skills

  • Graduate Degree or CPA certification related to the position preferred but not required.
  • Industries or sectors where experience is preferred are in technology, manufacturing, consulting, and/or software.
  • Experience in cost accounting
  • Experience in SOX
  • Experience with using ERP systems preferably SAP
  • Experience with software programs like Concur and/or BlackLine
  • Strong accounting and finance aptitude
  • Strong work ethic, able to quickly learn and execute tasks
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive customer service attitude
