About the role
DUTIES:
- Support JRTC Live Fire Division’s mission as required by the Live Fire TOC.
- Follow all safety guidance issued and assist when necessary in enforcement of safety procedures.
- Operate and maintain all assigned equipment.
- When required, travel independently throughout Peason Ridge Training Area while staying out of active danger zones (Impact Area, SDZs and protected sensitive areas).
- Help enforce restricted areas by ensuring all barriers are properly used and gates locked/unlocked.
- Assist with escorting VIPs, contractors, vendors or external agencies who may require access to Peason Ridge Training Area as directed by Live Fire TOC.
- Extinguish and monitor active forest, grass or equipment fires utilizing a M998 Tactical Fire Truck.
- Maintain Fire truck and ensure it is ready to employ on short notice.
- Notify the Live Fire TOC if a fire occurs outside of Peason 6 Training Area or moves near the boundary of Peason Ridge Training Area.
- Assist Live Fire Division OCTs as needed.
- Track all movement in and out of Peason Ridge to ensure all associated SDZ’s are clear before calling Peason Ridge in a HOT status.
- Responsible for making the appropriate NET Calls when needed such as putting an SDZ in a hot status and announcing the proper route restrictions for that SDZ.
- Log data such as 9-line MEDEVAC requests (air and/or ground), UXO 9-line, Environmental hazards and spills, fires, maintenance issues, logistical issues, weather updates, troop movement on required DA Forms and tracking sheets.
- Maintain an accurate DA Form 1594 log and submit to the approved distribution list at the end of each shift.
- Contact appropriate POC through email and/or phone to coordinate logistical support/facilities maintenance when issues arise.
- Performs other duties in accordance with Mission Support Contract requirements as directed.
- Perform other duty requirements as directed by the Live Fire TOC.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma.
Required Experience:
- Must have experience reading military maps and in military radio procedures.
Required:
- Secret Security Clearance.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to travel unaccompanied to continental US and foreign locations.
- Must be in good physical condition capable of lifting 30 pounds.
- Must be able to read a military map and be proficient in military RTO procedures.
- Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.
