Project Overview:
Bechtel’s focus on renewables and clean energy is helping our customers deliver transformational renewables and clean energy projects. Bechtel renewables team will perform the project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and startup for the Mammoth South, Central I and Central II project for a 376MW DC each (Total of 1.1GW DC) solar plant in Pulaski County, Indiana.
Job Summary:
Performs duties in supply chain, including bidder prequalification, bidder lists, bid solicitation, bid analysis, negotiation, and commitment of purchase orders and subcontracts. Performs administration of purchase orders and subcontracts following commitments involving high monetary expenditure or risk, engineered technical specifications, or supplementary commercial conditions. Participates in the planning, work hour calculations and budgeting as it relates to project purchasing activities. #LI-VB1
Major Responsibilities:
- Forms, issues, and administers purchase orders and subcontracts. Communicates with the supply chain to achieve the required service and meet project needs.
- Prepares and organizes assigned Procurement sponsored meetings.
- Directs negotiations in the commitment of purchases and subcontracts, following review and approval of the proposed negotiating plan by the designated supervisor.
- Provides training and guidance to other purchasing personnel regarding all aspects of formation and administration of purchasing forms, procedures, and buying goods.
- Assists project Supply Chain team when instructed in solving and attending to administrative problems on commitments involving high commercial and/or technical risk.
- Directs the physical count and inspection of arriving material.
- Reviews material receiving reports for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Ensures the accomplishment of physical inventories on a timely basis to ensure valid records are continuously maintained.
- Maintains custody of all project materials.
- Reviews preparation of shipping documents and registers for materials shipped from temporary operating and jobsite locations.
- Prepares and maintains inventory control records (manual and automated).
