ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Aviation Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team.  This position is remote with 100% travel.

The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Inspects, repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion engines, hydraulic cylinders, fuel pumps, fuel/hydraulic lines, voltage regulators and generators used in aviation ground support equipment.

  • Work involves replacing worn or broken parts such as motors, bearings, or other engine parts; adjusting valves; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.

  • Maintenance support including operations of powered and non-powered units, system troubleshooting, engineering, analysis, maintenance and repair of commercial and military aviation ground support systems and subsystems to the component level.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on electrical power support systems by verifying proper fuel, lubricants and coolant levels. Effectively applies industry or military standard troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate faulty system components.

  • Maintains and prepares records and documentation to ensure accurate and timely data processing.

  • 100% travel to worksites in various locations, United States, Europe and Pacific Region.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of qualified mechanical experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field (OR) 7+ years of qualified mechanical experience and a trade school certification or associate degree in a related field (OR) 9+ years of qualified mechanical experience. 

  • Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, ground power units, aircraft tugs, air conditioning and heater units, cargo loaders, de-icing vehicles, runway sweepers, light carts, fuel and defuel equipment.

  • Experience with maintenance support to include operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
