The regional General Manager and Business Lead will manage and have responsibility for one or multiple of Balsam Hill’s growing international geo/business. You will develop and execute our International Growth strategies and tactics, as well as oversee and optimize International Business Operations. You will collaborate with a broad cross-functional team to plan and optimize business performance, including Marketing, eCommerce, Operations, Inventory Planning, Finance & Accounting, and Customer Service. We are looking for an exceptional strategic thinker and collaborator.
This position reports to Balsam International Board of Directors and to the VP of International. This is a full-time position located in Dublin, Ireland. This role is expected to work in a hybrid model, which includes two or three days in-office. Occasional travel will be required.
What you’ll do:
International Growth and Business Management (50%)
- Responsible for the continuous optimization and growth of Balsam Brands’ regional or local business performance
- Demonstrate leadership by staying abreast of performance results, shopper needs, retail/eCommerce local standards and industry trends; provide regular updates and recommendations to the organization regarding growth opportunities and system/website enhancements
- Lead cross-functional business reviews, tracking, analysis and reporting overall financial and business performance across different categories and/or geographies; provide visibility to Leadership and other cross-functional stakeholders
- Work closely with Merchandising, Inventory Planning, Marketing and eCommerce teams to develop, execute, and track seasonal plans to achieve or surpass revenue and profitability goals
- Oversee pricing for one or multiple geographies; establish and maintain a rolling 12-month calendar for upcoming sales and promotions
Inventory Planning, Finance and Accounting (15%)
- Support managing Balsam International P&L, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting; review of financial performance, and preparation of financial budgets and forecasts
- Review and advise on inventory buy plans from non-US manufacturers; approve and ensure issuance of POs
- Partner with Dublin and US Inventory Planning teams to manage the timely and effective performance and fulfillment by non-US inventory manufacturers; approve payments to non-US inventory vendors and agents
- Oversee the international financial closes and ensure regulatory requirements are met; aid the Accounting Team for accurate and timely preparation and submission of financial information as required by non-US taxing authorities, governments, etc., including audited financial statements and VAT/GST filings
Operations & Logistics (20%)
- High level oversight of International Operations - this team manages fulfillment, warehousing, and supply chain for UK, EU and Australia business; you will be responsible for oversight, team scheduling, managing contracts and reviewing performance against benchmarks
- Assist and validate, along with the Operations and Inventory Planning teams, appropriate inventory allocation to UK, EU and Australia warehouses/3PLs
- Assist, where needed, in ensuring timely inbound freight delivery to UK, EU and Australia warehouses/3PLs
People Initiatives and Compliance (15%)
- Partner with cross-functional leads to manage local recruiting and onboarding efforts
- Oversight of the Dublin facilities, including formal and informal arrangements to support local functionality and operations (e.g., office leases and infrastructure)
- Instill Balsam Brands’ purpose and values in the local culture, driving our People First strategy
- Lead our philanthropic efforts in Europe, working cross-functionally to involve customers by allowing them to buy products from us that support our partners as well as to make donations on behalf of our partners
