Checkr is looking to grow our IT Engineering team! We are looking for someone who is excited by the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment that pushes you to learn while doing. This role needs to be great with people and intensely focused on enabling employee productivity and automations. You will help ensure we provide the ability to measure and optimize the employee feedback loop using iteration to improve workflow efficiency for our employees and our spaces. In this role, you will be responsible for the team that handles all of our productivity-enhancing applications from end-to-end: JIRA, Confluence, Slack, GSuite, knowledge management, SaaS apps, and our project management tooling. You should have a robust customer-first mindset. We are looking for a passionate engineer who focuses on enabling and unlocking productivity across the organization. 

What you'll do

• Make strategic decisions and recommendations that significantly impact the IT Engineering team and the wider organization.
• Build and develop a high-performing IT team, guiding goal-setting, hiring, and succession planning.
• Increase employee productivity by making measurement-driven improvements to the development tools/workflow/processes, then monitor the results and iterate.
• Lead planning and execution of new capabilities and improvements to Checkr's internal software stack.
• Demonstrated experience successfully managing projects - aligning on schedule and resources and successfully delivering on the agreed scope.
• Ensure excellent technical documentation and knowledge management for the benefit of internal stakeholders.
• Own and manage the systems that interact with IAM (Okta, Azure), knowledge management (Atlassian), infrastructure (Meraki, Kandji, Intune), and automation (Workato, Zapier).
• Collaborate cross-functionally to increase engagement and maximize utilization of internal systems.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure they provide our internal customers with the best service.
• Implement robust systems for monitoring, alerting, and issue resolution to minimize disruption.
• A constant drive to improve the experience of our users and internal processes: "How can I make things better?".
• Robust data-driven mindset and help drive the team forward with standardized SLAs and success metrics.
• Integration with APIs to enhance the functionality of our internal tooling.
• Champion a culture of continuous learning and development within the team, including mentorship programs to facilitate career growth and succession planning.
• Orchestrate cross-functional initiatives that align with Checkr's strategic objectives, influencing decision-making beyond the immediate IT Engineering team.
• Define and allocate team resources in alignment with Checkr's broader organizational goals, ensuring the scalability and effectiveness of IT solutions.
