Job Summary
The Primary Casualty Team of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Group, Ltd. is looking for an AVP, Senior Underwriter to join our underwriting team with primary responsibility for broker relationships in Chicago and the surrounding Central Region.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Utilizing authority to underwrite and price business for the following lines of coverage: Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Commercial Auto liability, while adhering to divisional underwriting guidelines.
- Establishing and maintaining broker relationships in Chicago and the Central US, with a concentration on Upper Middle Market and Large Account Primary Casualty business.
- Assisting in development and execution of business strategy necessary to drive submission flow and binding of profitable business.
- Working collaboratively with home office, marketing & distribution, actuary, claims, loss control, premium audit, and legal in an effort to develop and maintain a profitable portfolio of risk management insurance placements.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- College degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 to10 years of experience underwriting Casualty insurance.
- Should have significant experience and expertise in working with a broad array of guaranteed cost and loss sensitive program structures.
- Existing relationships with Central Region brokers handling complex primary casualty business and/or direct client relationships required.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Possess strong presentation, communication, and business development skills.
- Fluent in leadership skills, negotiation strategies, and problem-solving capabilities.
