The National Office Senior of Technology and Innovation is a core member of the firm’s National Office responsible for driving technology and innovation into the audit practice, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of all elements of the firm’s technology, with a focus on driving efficiency and embedding innovation in the firm’s attest practice and system of quality management.

 

Key duties entail assisting with the system implementation and design of the firm’s attest practice management and monitoring tool, including the design of the tool and its interfaces, embedding methodology into the interfaces, enhancing data analytics in the software, aiding with building reporting and data monitoring controls, and supporting implementation of the software for all offices and engagements in the firm.

 

As an essential member of the National Office team, the National Office Senior of Technology and Innovation collaborates extensively with the UHY LLP Managing Partner and UHY LLP Management Committee to advance firm-wide quality initiatives and ensure alignment with strategic objectives, including the implementation of the firm’s System of Quality Management (SQM).

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

Regular duties include (but are not limited to):

 

Design & Implementation of Software

  • Assist with the design and implementation of the firm’s Attest Practice Management and Monitoring Tool, including software development, user interface, and deployment.
  • Participate in strategic discussions with regional audit representatives to discuss current software and perceived needs of the practice for technology and innovation. Gather information to assist in the identification of new tools, including evaluating the use of AI tools in the attest practice.
  • Aid in the development of software training materials, conduct software training, and partner with external software vendors to develop and facilitate training.
  • Supporting the data migration for the offices and client engagements, including performing data integrity assessments and identifying corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with software vendors to troubleshoot performance issues identified and work with the firm’s Information Technology Leadership to identify and resolve issues.

Quality Governance

  • Participating in the Quality Control of the firm and reporting in bimonthly UHY LLP Management Committee meetings and contributing to the formulation, revision, and dissemination of policies adopted by the UHY LLP Management Committee to the firm’s professional staff.

Quality Management

  • Understand the Quality Control Standards as well as our firm’s current system of Quality Management to design, implement, and operate procedures to ensure compliance with the Quality Management Standards of the PCAOB, IIASB, and AICPA.
  • Work with other National Office colleagues to operate and/or evaluate our current system of quality management, including performing risk assessments and monitoring for areas addressed by information technology systems, data, or applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across UHY to gain an understanding of the risks to quality objectives as defined by the quality management statements.
  • Assist with the review and documentation of processes and controls, including designing effective monitoring controls to monitor the firm’s system of quality management
