*This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.This salary range reflects increases effective July 1st, 2026.

Updated as of July 1, 2025: This position is eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" for 24/7 Facilities. Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents, patients, and/or clients and whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours. The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29, 2027.

Please Note: The expected shifts for this position is 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday through Wednesday. This position is not eligible for telework.

As a Nursing Assistant Certified, you will assist in the delivery of nursing and nursing-related care to vulnerable Veterans in need of skilled nursing care in a homelike setting. Your role is vital to maximizing the quality of life for our residents by assisting with daily living activities. Examples of duties

Some of what you'll do:
  • Actively participate in the resident's care plan.
  • Create and maintain meaningful, professional relationships with residents and their families.
  • Support and encourage the resident's involvement in decisionmaking.
  • Assist with therapies and treatment under the direction of a licensed RN.
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating and monitoring/feeding of meals and nourishments, depending on the specific needs and requirements of each resident.
  • Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data; document residents' intake and output records; encourage liquids and collection of specimens for lab use.
  • Perform basic nursing procedures such as applying anti-embolism stockings, applying creams or lotion to intact skin, etc.
  • Reposition residents and access supplies as needed.
  • Use hoyer lift, oxygen tanks, scoop stretcher, or special equipment as needed.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary spaces in the household including residents' rooms and common spaces.
  • Lead therapeutic recreational activities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Washington state license to practice as a nursing assistant certified.
  • Active status on Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) Registry.
  • Must be proficient in the English language and be able to read, write and speak English.
