Hours: full time (permanent)
Shifts: 2 days on (including sleep nights), 4 days off
We’re looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Lancaster, in a 1 bed home supporting children and young people in a safe, caring, and structured home environment.
About the role:
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll play a key part in the daily life of our home. You’ll help lead your team on shift, provide hands-on care, and support the young people through their everyday experiences — the highs and the lows.Your role will include:
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
- Supporting care plans and helping young people achieve their goals
- Leading by example and supporting junior colleagues on shift
- Promoting a safe, clean, and happy home environment
- Encouraging learning, development, and independence in every child
- Keeping records up to date with care and professionalism
- Taking part in sleep-in shifts and working a 2-on, 4-off rota (with advance notice)
What You’ll Need:
- A minimum of 12 months experience in an Ofsted registered residential children's home
- A level 3 diploma (or above) in Residential Childcare (or an accepted equivalent). Applications may be considered for candidates that are close to achieving the diploma
- A full UK driving licence – essential for transporting young people and attending external meetings
- A calm, resilient, and compassionate approach to care
- Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins (Rota plan given in advance but likely to be 2 on 4 off)
