What You’ll Do
As a Paint Zone Leader you’ll be part of our Paint team located in Willard, Ohio You’ll get to:
- Oversee production activities, including:
- Painting, booth setup, equipment preventative maintenance, color module changeovers, powder usage sheets
- Ensure the safe and appropriate use of all equipment
- Appropriate use of PPE, such as: Tyvek suit, hood, mask, and gloves
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to meet 6S standards (e.g. cleaning, mopping)
- Implement practices that meet quality standards as it pertains to paint operations
- Inspection of both in-process and finished products using the appropriate tools
- General operation of the washers and ovens
- Proper removal, cleaning, and installation of filters and module hoppers
- Encourage and maintain productive teamwork within the department
- Collaborate with Fabrication and Assembly departments to coordinate schedules and resolve issues
- Wonder-ware operation and input, coordinate schedules, follow up on assignments, and train new associates
- Identify the need for, and coordinate, rework (sanding) and prep work as needed
- Troubleshoot paint issues (e.g. handguns, automatic operation, filters final, and collector issues)
- Maintain accurate inventory for ware parts, powders, and touch-up paints and re-order as needed
- Use proper radio etiquette
- Maintain quality and production standards following all ISO and MTD procedures that may include: paint mil check, KVA check, and velometer readings for booths and sanding room
- Identify concerns and provide insight for continuous improvement opportunities
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Paint Supervisor or designee
Who You Are

- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of experience in the department is preferred
- Skilled and trained with running equipment, and able to complete changeover and setup of new jobs
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to follow instructions and work independently
- Must be self-motivated with a good work ethic (e.g. minimal absences and tardiness)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with other associates throughout the facility
- Ability to walk, stand, and periodically lift up to 40 lbs. for a minimum of eight hours daily
- Available to work overtime as needed
