Graduate Service Assistant - Chemistry GCMS Assistant

Salary/Position Classification

• 1058.23-1194.45 monthly, Exempt
• 10 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

Looking for a current UND student enrolled in the Chemistry graduate program to assist with the daily running of GSMS Equipment

Duties & Responsibilities

• Daily check of vacuum 
• MS performance air supply 
• Ensuring accurate logs 
• Communication/Schedule and completion of maintenance 
• Support for users - Calibration, instrument setup, data processing 
• Routine analysis using instruments in Chemistry labs
• Administrative and customer service working with scheduling, training, and other various administrative tasks
• Daily lab maintenance
• Teaching lab setup and maintenance
• Other duties as assigned

Required Competencies

• Current UND Graduate student enrolled in the Chemistry graduate program
• Eligible for Graduate Assistantship 

Minimum Requirements

• Current UND Graduate student enrolled in the Chemistry graduate program
• Relevant previous lab experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience running a mass spectrometer
• Previous GRA/GTA experience
• Successful Completion of a Criminal History Background Check
