This position participates in financial record keeping, financial reporting, tax preparation, auditing, financial analysis, and maintenance of accounting systems. The incumbent is responsible for the analysis and reporting associated with financial data. This position has periodic contact with the administrative staff of the health centers but primarily interacts with the others on the Finance Team. The role is expected to provide historical and current financial data to determine the financial impact of decisions that will assist in determining a course of action. This position has periodic contact with external agency representatives, banks and auditors to provide support for financial and statistical reports completed within the department. This position is to provide accurate and timely financial data and journal entries. The position reports to the Controller.

• Full-Time
• Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Data Analysis

• Participates in various facets of analyzing and reviewing financial data for use in financial reporting.

Accounting

• Analyzes accounts and prepares journal entries for posting to the ledger in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
• Reviews monthly trial balance of general ledgers for assigned areas and prepares and analyzes all supporting schedules for assigned general ledger accounts for interim, monthly and year-end closing.
• Develops and maintains cost allocation methodology for shared site expenses
• Reconciles credit card, postage and telecom accounts.

Reporting

• Assists in the preparation of operating reports and financial statements. 
• Prepares analyses associated with monthly reporting requirements. 
• Prepares reconciliations of selected balance sheets, income statements or consolidating accounts.

System Development/Maintenance

• Evaluates the activities and financial information needs in Financial Accounting for development and maintenance of appropriate system (systems may be manual or computerized). 
• Tests and assists in the implementation of new software applications under the direction of the Controller. 
• Reviews and maintains computerized financial systems (Payroll, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Inter-Departmental Transfers, and General Entry Data), to ensure accuracy and to maintain integrity of financial systems.
• Reviews and maintains vendor system interfaces and coding modules.

Records

• Participates in the maintenance of the records retention system as outlined by established policy.

Audit Procedures

• Prepares schedules, in a timely and accurate manner, for the annual financial audit by external auditors.

Financial Statements/ Reporting

• Reconciles and reviews subsidiary ledgers. Subsidiary ledgers include, but are not limited to, revenue, fixed assets, restricted funds, inventory, payroll and accounts payable.
• Responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements. 
• Prepares reports for management reports as necessary.

Tax Preparation

• Assists with the preparation of local, state and federal tax returns
