Description
This position involves facilitating courses in the Faith & Sports Institute Online Certificate Program.
FSI's Online Certificate Program is a non-credit professional development and continuing education program at Baylor's Truett Seminary designed to help learners process and explore critical sports issues from an informed Christian perspective. Courses in the program are delivered asynchronously, with the content and learning activities created by a collaborative team of experts. The course instructor IS NOT responsible for designing or developing new content and is not expected to hold synchronous class meetings. The instructor IS responsible for guiding and facilitating students through the course by providing feedback and engagement on student activities and responses.
Responsibilities for FSI Online Certificate Program Instructors include:
· Teaching in alignment with the Faith & Sports Institute's program ethos and the Truett Seminary Statement of Common Faith (https://truettseminary.baylor.edu/about/who-we-are/what-we-believe/statement-common-faith)
· Navigating the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure course content can be accessed by students
· Providing regular and timely written communication to students in the course
· Providing regular and timely written feedback on student activities and responses
· Nurturing a supportive online space that can meet the needs and encourage growth for a variety of learners
· Maintaining communication with FSI's Continuing Education Program Manager, including questions, concerns, and encouragement
Time commitments for FSI Online Certificate Program Instructors will vary depending on the course. In general, instructors should be able to spend around six hours per week for eight weeks, providing communication, feedback, and oversight of the course.

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is
$ 500.00 - $ 1000.00 per course
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
Qualifications
Online Certificate Program Instructors for Truett Seminary's Faith & Sports Institute are expected to meet the following qualifications:
· A Master’s degree in a field related to theology, education, leadership, sports, or the humanities is preferred
· Engagement with and understanding of Faith & Sports Institute programs, classes, and initiatives is preferred
· Demonstrated ability to teach, train, mentor, and/or lead others is required
· Familiarity and confidence with online communication and engagement is required
· Evidence of an active Christian faith and a willingness to teach in alignment with Truett Seminary's Statement of Common Faith is required
· An understanding of and appreciation for the people and culture of sports is required, and personal experience as a sports practitioner is preferred
