Medical Assistant II- OB/GYN

Duties will include: assisting physicians and nursing staff in the care of patients; assisting in performing ancillary testing/services for patients; assisting with the monitoring of patient flow; assisting with patient exams; obtaining vital signs; reviewing charts prior to delivering care; providing clear patient education and instructions; administering medications properly; assisting with daily/weekly clinical duties (room stocking, cleaning, etc.); assisting in creating and filing medical records; and other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualified applicants will possess: H.S. diploma or equivalent (GED); completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program and certification; 2-3 years medical assisting and medical office experience; ability to perform all medical assisting responsibilities under state and faculty guidelines; strong patient assessment skills; excellent communication skills; and medical assistant certification is required

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
