This role is for you if you’re a product designer passionate about data visualization. In this role, you, the product team, and analysts will partner to solve complex user experience problems of visualizing and interacting with large amounts of agricultural and climate data to deliver decision-making tools, and applications.
What You'll Do
- You will help drive user-centered strategy and design solutions to deliver our growing body of decision-making tools and applications.
- Keeping the user journey in mind you will partner and iterate with product managers to Discover, Define, Design, and Deliver intuitive and efficient UX/UI/Data Viz experiences for our enterprise users.
- Create appropriate levels of prototypes and mockups to demonstrate solutions to various stakeholders and facilitate frictionless handoffs by working closely with engineering leads.
- Support the development and maintenance of our growing design system to ensure a consistent user experience and an efficient development process for designers and engineers
- Develop and nurture relationships across teams and disciplines
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years plus Masters OR 5+ years plus Bachelors
- Experience as a UX/UI or product designer, crafting solutions for B2B / Data Analytics / Financial products.
- Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
- A strong portfolio demonstrating a deep understanding of the user-centered design process and experience in design strategy, information architecture, interaction design, and data visualization.
- Experience in wireframing and prototyping in Figma and working in Agile or Lean Start-up methods.
- A solid ability to communicate the rationale for design decisions through verbal and written explanations, sketching, or quick mockups
- Strong presentation skills and ability to plan and lead visioning sessions
- Must be comfortable working independently, work on numerous projects simultaneously, and prioritize accordingly
- Working knowledge of current web-based technologies and frameworks (e.g. CSS, Angular, React) to inform design decisions
- Ability or have a strong desire to learn/understand how data works either under the hood.
- Desire to mentor junior designers
Nice to Have
- Experience in conducting user research
- Experience in creating visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, or Observable
Compensation
The salary range for this role is expected to be $115,000-$180,000. Other compensation for the role includes equity, a generous PTO policy and health, vision & dental insurance.
