Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced Environmental Geologist to act as the Field Environmental Advisor to manage a variety of refinery/pipeline investigation/remediation projects in Borger TX. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate investigation/remediation project experience, require a strong focus on health and safety, be detailed orientated, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and will be capable of working collaboratively in a high-performance team.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Supports multiple projects in a wide range of sediment, soil, surface water, and groundwater investigations and remediation.
- Supports progression and completion of work in accordance with sound time management methodology from investigation through closure
- Supports Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty to mitigate and/or eliminate.
- Field-based task management and oversight of environmental investigation and remediation programs.
- Health and safety stewardship.
- Coordinating and communicating with client
- Review environmental performance data and support continuous improvement activities
- Monitor daily operations and support management of change processes
- Collaborates with project teams and management in the development of scope, schedule, and budget for investigation/remediation projects
- Strong analytical, technical and communication skills
- Provides guidance and counsel to the project team on applicable site-specific practices
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or closely related field in Geology or Environmental Engineering, and 6+ years of relevant field experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S. driver's license, subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.
- Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in environmental consulting
- Master of Science
- Professional geology (PG) or Professional engineering (PE) license in Texas
- Knowledge on environmental compliance and permitting
- Experience working in remote field conditions
- Oil and gas refinery experience
- Awareness of project safety, incident investigations and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to lead and/or support project teams with excellent internal and external client and regulatory communication skills
