EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Must have ten years of professional experience in rail vehicle maintenance, with a minimum of five years management experience. Transit experience desired. Must demonstrate ability to develop and execute budgets, training programs, human relations functions, new equipment fielding, and capital program design and execution. Knowledge of labor relations required. In lieu of a degree, directly related management experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
SUMMARY
Responsible for directing the operation and maintenance of MARTA's Office of Rail Maintenance, providing overall management of the rapid rail transit vehicles. Directs efforts of subordinate staff to meet or exceed the Office's goals regarding safety, quality, and efficiency. Oversees the operating and capital budgets for the Office of Rail Maintenance. Responsible for compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations affecting service and facilities.
This position has been identified as having responsibility for transit safety oversight at MARTA and is required to comply with the training requirements identified in the Authority’s Agency Safety Plan. Training requirements must be completed within 3 years of employment.
