Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best-in-class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.

 

We’re looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems and highly available services. If this is you, at Oracle you can design and build innovative new systems from the ground up. An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact.
 
As a Member of Technical Staff you will own the software design and development for components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
 
From a technology perspective, this is a greenfield development environment with a huge amount of autonomy, leaving us free to build and innovate without being encumbered by legacy products and services. 

About You

• You have solid communication skills. You can clearly explain complex technical concepts.
• You are comfortable with ambiguity. 
• You have a strong sense of ownership, and are able to contribute to the development of new projects and features to completion.
• You are comfortable working at all levels of the stack.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience shipping services software
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals. 
• Proficient in Java
• Understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS in Computer Science
• Strong grasp of Unix-like operating systems
• Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus. 
• Experience with big data technologies like Kafka, Hadoop is a plus

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $62,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
