What you'll do...
Emerging Tech is looking for a Sr. Manager who will be responsible for
a team of backend and mobile engineers to deliver on the high visibility Sparky initiative. Work closely with Product and Business to ideate and deliver on new features for the Walmart Shopping Assistant, Sparky. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineers on the team.

Walmart's Emerging Technology Team is a group of innovators and technologists who are responsible for exploring and developing new technologies that can enhance the shopping experience for customers and improve the efficiency of Walmart's operations. The team focuses on identifying and evaluating emerging technologies that have the potential to transform the retail industry, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and more.
What you'll do:
Work closely with Product and Business to ideate and deliver on new features for the Walmart Shopping Assistant, Sparky. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Participate in Architecture and RCA reviews and provide feedback and guidance. Participate in the larger Emerging Tech technical discussions and help foster a deep Engineering culture.

What you'll bring:
10-15 years of working as a backend/full stack engineer. Experience with Java and Java based frameworks. Experience managing a team of 5-10 engineers. Experience working with LLM based applications and architectures.
Understanding of mobile architectures and frameworks. Ability to take complex problems and break them down into manageable Engineering tasks and create a roadmap with the Product team. Work with the team to manage the JIRA board and deliver in a timely manner. Communicate with Product and Business stakeholders to understand requirements and share timelines. Work across different functional teams spanning Walmart and foster relationships along the way to help with alignment across the company.
