National Grid is hiring a Supervisor, Gas Field Operations, for our NE Gas Field Ops & CMS Electric division located in Lowell, Massachusetts. This is an on-site and in the field position (not a hybrid role).Valid driver's license with a safe driving history required.

Job Purpose
To be responsible for the safety and security of the gas distribution system through the daily supervision and organization of operations personnel in order to complete job tasks while complying with company and regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the safe setting to work of all work activities in accordance with the safe control of operations procedures.
- Authorize permission documents and undertake the role of Site Controller.
- Maintain accurate site operational records including shift log entries as required.
- Support the construction and commissioning of new assets onto the gas transmission system and other non-load related project work.
- Identify the requirement to replace/upgrade existing plant and equipment, including the preparation of business cases, initiation of design and provision of technical support.
- Act as onsite incident supervisor during planned and emergency situations.
- Manage allocated resources to produce cost-effective, customer focused and efficient service within budget and delegation of authority, assisting with the indirect control of various projects in order that timescales and budgeted costs are met
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Prior Supervisory and Leadership skills strongly preferred
- Effective communication skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations to small audiences.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications

- Desirable: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanic or Civil Engineering or an Associate of Science degree in Mechanic Engineering or Civil Engineering
- 4-8 years of experience in the construction field (Utility Field preferred)
- Comfortable with MS Office (Teams, Excel, , Outlook, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history

Salary: $101,000 - $119,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
