Summary:

Responsible for monitoring the security operations for Red Mile and implement security policies, regulations, rules, and practices to guarantee that the property is safe for both patrons and employees.

Essential Duties: 

· Supervises the work of all Security Department managers, supervisors, leads and team members, including the responsibilities of planning, assigning, and directing work 

· Responsible for coaching, rewarding, and evaluating supervisor and/or team member performance 

· Responsible for addressing guest complaints, resolving problems, and other administrative requirements of the department 

· Develops, implements, monitors, and enforces departmental policies, procedures, internal controls and Kentucky Horse Racing Commission regulations as applicable to the function 

· Coordinates risk management, working with insurance providers for a proactively safe facility, handling of accidents/incidents, and leading the safety committee 

· Utilizes a current network of professional contacts who may have impact on policy or practices to include law enforcement, alcohol beverage control, intelligence communities, surrounding business stakeholders, local political leaders, horse racing industry personnel, etc.

· Advises, makes recommendations and assists in the formulation of goals and objectives

· Responsible for the professional growth of the Security Department team members through training, motivation, mentoring, coaching, and organizational development strategies 

· Completes comprehensive written reports as necessary

· Coordinates proactively training, selecting, developing, schedules and directs the Security staff. 

· Works in liaison with all departments on security measures, procedures, and needs.

Requirements

  

Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):

· Bachelor’s degree, associate degree or advanced training in security; 

· High school diploma required;

· Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience required.

· Must be available to work flexible shift, weekends and holidays. 

· Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.  

Minimum Qualifications: 

· Candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, enjoy and create a team environment. 

· Must be able to communicate in English; Bilingual in Spanish a plus. 

· Must exhibit ability to manage a large department of employees.

· Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service. 

· Able and willing to work cooperatively with other departmental directors and all team members. 

Physical Requirements: 

Excessive walking, standing, exposed to extreme temperatures as must go from interior to exterior of building during all seasons and weather conditions; ability to lift 50lbs minimum.
