Job Overview & Responsibilities

Mythics is seeking an experienced Oracle Middleware Administrator to support a large DoD enterprise environment and provide technical support around Oracle Middleware components and supporting technologies.  Consultant will suport all activities related to the administration of Middleware Administration. Projects long-range requirements for database administrators and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Installs, designs, creates, and maintains Middleware solutions in a client/server environment. Conducts quality control and auditing of Middleware installations in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to Middleware applications. Deploys user applications in the Middleware installation. Works with Application developers to ensure connectivity to databases. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, adherence to standards and procedures, and integration of systems through database design. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Administer, coordinate, and provide technical knowledge for the initiation of patches and STIGs in all environment for all Oracle Middleware components as well as any support applications including but not limited to GITLAB/GITHUB, APEX, Subversion, Convergence, and Confluence.
  • Create and maintain configuration documentation using the System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) format for all environments
  • Provide application administration support for new and existing Oracle Fusion Middleware components (version 12g and above to include: Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Identity Management, Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher, Oracle Access Manager, Service Oriented Architecture, Oracle HTTP Server, Web Cache, Oracle APEX and Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
  • Provide administrative and technical support for the Oracle Fusion Middleware components in the Cloud (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Azure Cloud), and on prem data centers.
  • Research new security threats and maintain security standards on all middleware, application, and web servers.
  • Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to monitor, secure, install, upgrade, configure, measure, and maintain Application Server integrity through active analysis of performance measures. Including Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control or Oracle Application Server interfaces and options and their associated agents (i.e., Oracle Management Agent, Oracle Management Server, and Oracle Management Repository)
  • Support resolution of incident and work order tickets and implement application configuration changes to ensure maximum availability and performance.
  • Monitor Application logs for anomalous Activity (hack attempts, service failures, system outages, etc.).
  • Develop tests and procedures to regularly assess the health of database schemas; take corrective measures where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with PMO team to troubleshoot and resolve Oracle Database and Application access and availability issues.
  • Collaborate with PMO team to identify and resolve data integrity issues related to failed operating system and/or database jobs.
  • Complete user management activities as required (i.e. create accounts, assign database roles and/or OUD group membership, reset passwords, and troubleshoot database privilege issues). Provide after hours call back/on call support for production systems.
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain existing and new Middleware installations in a STIG compliant manner.
  • Apply Application software patches and upgrades to maintain product supportability and compliance
  • Develop and implement application security guide and checklist, track in a POAM the security violations on a monthly basis.
  • Provide design, tuning and troubleshooting technical assistance including issue root cause analysis to the team and ensure maintenance and supportability of production applications.
  • Provide monthly or as needed review/analysis of Oracle Database user schemas and Application statistics gathered and tuning  recommendations for implementation.
  • Provide administrative and Technical support for routine recovery scenarios to ensure application backup and recovery solutions.
  • Provide input to the Information Operations Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) plan for disaster recovery and participate in scheduled disaster recovery exercises. In the event of an actual emergency, participate in the recovery of any/all Oracle application systems impacted by the emergency and maintain a record of all problems encountered and corrective actions taken.
