Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Procurement/Inventory Specialist. This position is at the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Transportation Management Center (TMC) in Miami, FL.
The work environment is fast paced as the TMC manages traffic and crashes throughout Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties 24 hour a day, 7 days a week. This position reports to the IT Manager. The ideal candidate will be experienced with procurement procedures related to technology purchases. The ideal candidate will also need to have a complete understanding inventory and equipment life cycle surplus systems related to technology equipment. Familiarity with FDOT procurement procedures and IT inventory is a plus. Additional responsibilities include assisting with technology report writing and preparation, quarterly, semi-annual and annual budget preparation and monthly tracking. Additional clerical tasks as needed.
The routine responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for obtaining quotes for creation of purchase/procurement requests for new equipment, tracking purchase requests on a quarterly basis, creating information resource requests in the FDOT system, managing quarterly budgets of multiple spending accounts, and providing weekly updates to the client.
- Quarterly, semi-annual and annual inventory control reports in accordance with TMC and FDOT requirements.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits of equipment and spare parts stockpile.
- Track location of equipment and confirm locations and quantities.
- Quarterly, semi-annual, annual and 5-year budget preparation and monthly tracking in accordance with RTMC and FDOT requirements. This includes multiple FDOT budgets related to technology and operational requirements.
- Quarterly surplus of end of life technology equipment in accordance with RTMC and FDOT requirements.
- Assist with formatting, editing, and drafting for final submittal technical reports and utility locates letters.
- Receives, stocks, picks, packs, and ships product.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- HS + 2 Years of relevant inventory and warehouse experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Must pass a state and federal criminal history/security background check
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Excellent comprehension and experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office base software including Word.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work weekends and after normal business hours on occasion.
- Ability to work with multiple people from project team, client, and others to complete tasks as needed.
- Ability to travel to other facilities to perform inventory duties, using a AECOM provided Vehicle
- Valid US driver’s license. Must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Position requires stationary sitting for long periods to perform procurement duties.
- Position requires occasionally during quarterly inventory process to move, stand, bend and stoop for several consecutive workdays. Also, the ability to climb portable ladders and lift move boxes weighing up to 25lbs unassisted to perform inventory functions and to unbox and tag items in the office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited university and 2 years of experience or 5 years of directly related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of FDOT Technology Equipment Procurement procedures.
- Knowledge of FDOT PMR, Tangible Property and inventory surplus procedures.
- Knowledge of FDOT quarter, semi-annual, annual and 5-year budgeting process.
