Licensed Vocational Nurse Per Diem

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a temporary, per diem Licensed Vocational Nurse responsible for rendering nursing care pursuant to the goals, objectives, and policies of Cottage Health within the scope of practice and under the direction of an RN. Performs nursing interventions for the comfort and healing of patients. Supports a collaborative environment in promotion of health and wellness.

Responsibilities include:

• Patient Care: Collects data and performs nursing care interventions based on LVN Scope of Care. Provides input to the RN in the formulation of the plan of care. Identifies and prioritizes care based on the patient's individual needs. 
• Documentation: Completes appropriate documentation (i.e. medical record, plan of care, patient changes, assigned projects, educational activities) in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• Minimum: Current California LVN license. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).

Years of Related Work Experience:

• Minimum: Previous clinical experience in an acute care, clinic, LTC, or skilled nursing setting.
