Mechanical Design Engineer

As Mechanical Design Engineer it is your responsibility to discuss and review the drawings and other technical documentation with the Project Engineer, Product Engineer, or the Mechanical Specialist. You are responsible for the mechanical detail engineering drawing of projects. You offer support to the staff of the Assembly, Testing, Service and Sales departments. You provide technical support as required to other departments, like sales engineering; and you are a member of the Engineering department and report to the Teamlead Project Engineering.

Main objectives

• You are responsible for the mechanical detail engineering drawings of the projects assigned to you.
• You discuss and review new designs with the Project Engineer, Product Engineer, or the Mechanical Specialist.
• You review, adjust, and record technical suggestions.
• You create production drawings and dimensional sketches for the product range and quotations.
• You create P&ID drawings and drawings of equipment room layouts for projects and/or sales tenders.
• You provide technical support as required to other departments, like sales engineering.
• You contribute pro-actively to the continuous improvement of working practices, processes, and standardisation.
• You provide material and purchasing specifications.

Requirements

• You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering from a University of Applied Science (HBO) or equivalent.
• You have experience and thorough understanding of mechanical drawings as well as the applicable international standards, regulations, and directives.
• You have ample experience with quality assurance and revision management.
• You can speak, read, and write in Dutch, English and preferably German too.
• You have an affinity for electrical machines in industrial environments.
• You have experience with 3D CAD and preferably BIM engineering software.
• You can work with MS Office, ERP and PLM software.
