Job Description
Role Summary: The Tech 4 will be on-shift ensuring uninterrupted operation of a glass forehearth, feeder, and forming machine. The responsibilities of a Technician 4 build upon what is expected of a Technician 1, 2, and 3.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning & 5S of areas from the forehearth to lehr loader
- Hoist, forklift, and heavy equipment operation (front end loader, tugger)
- Collaboration & communication across production line
- Machine cullet system operation & maintenance
- Forehearth operation and maintenance, including identify & implementing correct combustion setup, hot repairs, thermocouple replacements, and starting & stopping glass flow
- Identifying the correct KPI targets for the job
- Interfacing with equipment and support systems on line to maintain KPIs
- Operation and maintenance of feeder and forming machine, including bottle forming quality, gob shape, defect correction, maintaining forming parameters, diagnostics & fault finding, lehr input, and expendable refractory replacement
- Hot end inspection equipment adjustment and operation, including manual hot end gauging, and data analysis & correction
- Setup, operation, and maintenance of delivery system, machine lubrication system, shear system, cullet chute, mechanisms, and auxiliary equipment
- Job change coordination, including changing out mould equipment, KPIs, mould cleaning & basic repair, machine conversion
- Operation and maintenance of ware handling & conveying equipment, hot end laser coder, swab robot, tin hood, and asset protection & deluge system
- Lehr load set up (stacker, spacing, belts, etc.)
- Preventative maintenance and repair in areas of responsibility
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required, technical focus preferred
- Mechanical or electro-mechanical trade certificate or equivalent
- 1-3 years of glass manufacturing experience
- 5-10 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred
- 5-10 years of maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to set-up and operate equipment
- Ability to work on systems 5-24V, preferred
- Basic welding skills preferred
- Familiarity with high speed industrial production lines
- Familiarity with industrial high-temperature processes and controls, preferred
- Diagnostics, fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
- Effective communication
- Basic computer knowledge to include experience with MS Office or similar desktop related applications
- Proficiency in SAP, preferred
- Ability to work to a shift schedule (day and night shift, 12 hours)
- Ability to occasionally perform physically demanding job tasks:
- Lift or carry <50lbs
- Bend, stretch, twist or reach out

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is targeted to be $43.42 per hour USD.
