As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. In this role, you will receive ample support, training and education, including knowledge of operating the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and sterilization tools and concepts.
A caregiver in this position works evenings/on-call requirments, 3:00pm—11:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
Provide case cart management.
Understand proper handling of equipment, instrumentation and chemicals.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process.
Scan, sort, inspect and assemble instruments by instrument list and wrap and label as documented in the procedure.
Perform recordkeeping.
Build case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatch them to appropriate locations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Sterile Processing Distribution Certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) within 18 months of hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of healthcare experience or a similar background in Mechanical/Manufacturing Assembly
Military experience as a Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), <
