The Maintenance Team is looking to fill the role of Maintenance Technician in their Shelbyville, Kentucky facility.
Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Shelbyville, Kentucky
The successful candidate will:
- Performs preventative maintenance.
- Will respond to daily priorities within the maintenance department.
- Identifies potential equipment problems and corrects them.
- Maintains the equipment in a manner so as not to impede the production process.
- Prepares plant equipment and facilities for production.
- Responds to equipment failures or facilities problems in a timely and professional manner.
- Informs manager or lead when critical replacement parts are used from inventory.
- Troubleshoots equipment and recommends corrective action.
- Identifies equipment problems in a timely and accurate manner.
- Implements contingency plans for keeping production running.
- Maintains work areas to keep them free of trip hazards and other safety issues.
- Ensures tools and auxiliary equipment are returned to their proper place after a job or project is completed or after a mold change is complete.
- Cleans the machinery as necessary.
- Complies with safety standards.
- Lock out/tag out procedures are always followed.
- OSHA safety standards are always complied with.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications [Knowledge, Experience Skills]:
Knowledge/Education Required:
Associate degree in Maintenance Technician or related desired. (Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.)
Related Experience Required:
- 5+ years of experience in the injection Mold design and processing, preferably in the plastics industry.
- Ability to work with a variety of outside contractors.
Essential experience and skills:
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician in the plastics industry preferred.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Safety and Quality Standards.
- Basic math skills.
- Forklift operations.
- Basic mechanical skills
- General computer skills
- Crane operations.
- General maintenance skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that is aggressive and fast paced.
- Must respond to frequently changing priorities.
- Injection Mold is a plus.
