About the role

Description

The Associate Dean for Health and Well-Being provides strategic leadership for the Student Health & Wellbeing cluster of Student Life, which includes the Health & Counseling Center (HCC), Athletics, Fitness, & Outdoor Programs (AFOP), and the Sexual Health Advocacy & Relationship Education (SHARE) program. The Associate Dean for Health and Well-Being leads multidisciplinary efforts to sustain an equitable and inclusive culture of student well-being.

This position reports to the Vice President for Student Life, is under the division of Student Life, and works on campus interfacing with faculty, staff, and students. The position serves in an on-call rotation with other student life deans, providing support for frontline professional staff in responding to elevated student concerns. This is not a remote position.

Starting salary for this position is $120,712- $125,712. Pay offers are contingent upon experience and are determined through an internal pay assessment. This is an exempt position in grade 10.

  • You are self aware. You don’t mind making mistakes and owning them.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide leadership and functional responsibility for strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of campus-wide wellness education programs

  • Partner with the Care Team to deliver harm-reduction programming and intervention strategies

  • Support students who experience crisis; intervene directly in cases involving critical illness/injury, mental illness, and other threats to mind and body

  • Partner with faculty and staff around health assessment and wellness education

  • Develop co-curricular wellness programming for students' utilization

  • Anticipate, evaluate, and address changes in student needs and improve the student experience on campus

  • Assess and make medical and counseling recommendations to internal/external providers and clinicians

  • Collaborate with the Director of Medical Services and Director of Counseling Services to support, develop, and promote initiatives, programming, and outreach directed toward students’ physical, mental, emotional, and psychological well-being
