HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
Development Delivery Leadership (35%):
- Leads Web and API development on AWS for critical business applications across the retail organization including Ecommerce, Consumer Application and stores.
- Partner with the product management teams to ensure the API development team is focusing on the right initiatives to meet our business goals.
- Set API standards, architectural patterns, and best practices.
- Optimize Agile methodology and team structure to drive development capacity and improve delivery.
- Lead all DevOps capabilities at Carters - define best practices, scope, training/mentorship across the organization. Including monitoring strategy and security findings remediation.
- Leads a team of managers, developers, business analysts, and solutions analysts
- Provides strategic road mapping, portfolio management, data management, and data analytics as required.
- Manages relationships with strategic vendor partners.
- Works effectively in matrix organization establishing trust relationships with business segments.
- Ensures that Carter’s Retail Merchandising, Pricing, Planning, and Allocation portfolio meets and exceeds the expectations and needs of consumers, clients and operators, thus enabling the Company to remain competitive in the market place.
- Ensures Carter’s Omnichannel technology, RFID, and Allocation technology meets and exceeds the expectations and needs of consumers, clients and operators, thus enabling the Company to remain competitive in the market place.
- Utilizes research and examines competitive options to onboard new solutions in portfolio.
Technical and Architectural Leadership (20%):
- Partner with business and IT cross functional teams to provide technical leadership to translate business needs into technical designs. Responsible for the overall application architecture to include availability, stability, scalability, security, and recoverability of all solutions.
- Provide architectural oversight for the development of prototypes and setting technology direction that is consistent with defined architecture principles, standards, methodologies and best practices.
- Lead through collaboration across the organization to support and govern the introduction of new technologies. Review, align, and drive technology plans with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes.
- Define and promote processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
- Mentor team members and provide technology leadership.
- Develop and maintain artifacts in the Architecture Library.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and market trends within the retail space and makes recommendations to align with the business strategic initiatives. Develop and maintain the technology roadmaps that drive innovation within the organization
- Manage change control process for applications within the portfolio
Project Leadership and Oversight (20%)
- Initiate projects and establish plans, staffing models and consulting support (if needed) to deliver projects to meet business needs.
- Utilize Carter’s or partner established methodologies, tools and templates, working closely with the Program Management Office to ensure quality delivery of projects
- Lead or provide executive oversight to all projects in the portfolio

Production Support and Maintenance (25)%
- Deliver very high quality of production support and maintenance service levels 365/24/7, particularly during times of high volume and peak order taking and processing
- Lead and/or participate in outage calls and Root Cause Analysis for production problems
- Define processes for how support is managed, including on call schedules of team and how incidents are to be responded to
- Set up proper monitoring for production systems with alerting and work process for resolution in place
