Project Overview:

Bechtel is partnering with Next Decade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas.

RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

Job Summary:

Oversees supplier performance activities including communicating Non-Conformances (NCRs) to supplier, obtaining supplier support on resolution of the NCR, notifying suppliers of potential back-charges associated with each NCR and negotiating final costs.  #LI-CS1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reports to and receives operational direction from the Project Field Procurement Manager
  • Notifies suppliers of purchase order commercial and technical deficiencies and expedites corrective action.
  • Coordinates with the supplier and the responsible field engineer on the required corrective action to mitigate the deficiency, i.e., documentation, material and/or services.
  • Works closely with Project Controls to track costs associated with the corrective action.
  • Establishes and maintains the Back charge Log and updates the log daily to reflect status of the deficiency.
  • Establishes files and controls for all outgoing and incoming correspondence related to the non-conformance.
  • Provides early warning to the Project Field Procurement Manager of issues impacting suppliers’ ability to provide timely support in the resolution of the non-conformance.
  • Attends project status meetings, when requested, and reports status of area of responsibility.
  • Develops training material and provide training to project personnel on the Non-conformance/Backcharge program.
  • Accountable for the integrity of records management for assigned work.
  • Responsible for working with Accounts Payable to track receipt of backcharge payments from suppliers.
  • Maintains working relationships with project procurement personnel and project discipline personnel to perform assigned duties.
  • Provides training and guidance to other field purchasing personnel regarding supplier performance.

 

 Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years progressive related experience including but not limited to Procurement preferably in an engineering, procurement, and construction environment. OR in lieu of formal degree a minimum of 12 years of progressive related experience including but not limited to Procurement, preferably in an engineering, procurement, and construction environment.
