Senior Cloud Engineer

Avalanche Studios Group is hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer for our central technology organisation, Central Tech. Central Tech is our core technology team and we innovate in areas that push the boundaries for what open-world sandbox gaming means as well as enhance our players' online experience within our live-service games. <br/>In this role, you will contribute to the development and optimization of our backend platform, Apex Connect, and its infrastructure in the cloud. Apex Connect is an integral part of the Apex Engine suite, a robust set of tools and services driving our live-service games. <br/>It plays a pivotal role in engaging millions of active players globally, providing essential services such as user authentication, data tracking, live event management, and advanced matchmaking.<br/>As a Cloud Engineer, you will be a part of our engineering team, focusing on setting up, operating, and refining our infrastructure in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).  <h3>What you'll do...</h3> <ul> <li>Designing, implementing and maintaining our backend platform infrastructure architecture.</li><li>Helping to define and rationalize service-level performance indicators (SLI) and objectives (SLO).Enhancing our monitoring and alerting systems.</li><li>Advocating for optimal Cloud Ops practices.</li><li>Ensuring that our infrastructure is scalable, secure, performant and cost-efficient</li><li>Assisting in the transition and expansion of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).</li><li>Improving our CI/CD pipeline.</li></ul> <h3>Who you are...</h3> <ul> <li>3+ years of professional experience with cloud or hybrid infrastructure (preferably GCP).</li><li>Ability to define and rationalize service-level performance indicators and objectives.</li><li>Experience with Redis, Memcache, or equivalent.</li><li>Proficiency with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes. </li><li>Experience in establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana and Google Cloud Monitoring is a big plus.</li><li>Experience with Cloudflare DNS and Cloudflare DDoS protection products is a plus.</li><li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, etc.) is a plus.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written English.</li><li>A passion for video games is a plus.</li></ul><br/><br/>The Stockholm location<br/>Our Stockholm office is situated in Södermalm, the beating heart of the city’s game industry.
