Construction Service Technician

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Repair Technician and Window Installer to join our team of professionals in the exterior construction industry. This role involves performing repair and maintenance tasks and installing various types of windows for our residential and commercial clients. The successful candidate must be comfortable with frequent travel, as approximately 50% of the work will involve traveling to project sites in the Midwest.

Key Responsibilities:

Installations (Windows) 

• Install new windows in accordance with project specifications, building codes, and industry best practices.
• Accurately measure openings and prepare window frames for installation.
• Ensure proper sealing, insulation, and weather-proofing during the installation process.
• Conduct quality checks and make necessary adjustments for proper window operation.

Repair and Maintenance:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with existing roofing, windows, doors, siding, and other exterior components.
• Physically perform repairs, ensuring proper functionality and aesthetics.
• Replace defective parts and components as necessary.

Job Site Preparation and Cleanup:

• Prepare job sites for installations or repair work, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
• Protect surrounding areas from potential damage during the installation or repair process.
• Clean up job sites upon completion, ensuring they are left in a neat and presentable condition.

Travel:

• Approximately 50% of the work will involve traveling to project sites within a designated region.
• Flexibility to work at different locations as per project requirements.
• Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred 
• High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant technical training or certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in exterior construction, roofing, siding, window installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment related to the trade.
• Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret installation manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Physically fit to perform manual labor and work at heights, as well as lift and carry heavy materials.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work at various job sites as required.
