Sr Operating Efficiency (OE) Site Head & Capabilities Leader 

 

MAIN PURPOSE

 

The Site PSS – Operating Efficiency (OE) Head and Capability Leader role in Myerstown leads the site wide implementation of the 4-phase PSS program and leads the training function for the site. The role is responsible to create a vision (functional and business) and approach to transform Myerstown from a PSS phase 0 to phase 4 (highest capability) site leading to breakthrough in operational performance in service, reduced downtime, increased operator & manger skills, improved site problem solving, other core operational and in process metrics, and improved cost all to benchmark levels defined by external POBOS/McKinsey study.  

The role leads key site capabilities:

• Annual site strategy development process (Hoshin)
• Site “Current Business Need” definition and deployment linked to the strategy
• PSS Phase Progression to optimize core KPI performance, reduce waste, and optimize cost structure
• Project Management – Optimization Programs for the plant value streams and LCD (Line Centric Design)
• Integration of PSS Phase progress with overall site strategy (Smart Factory, Digitization, Site Master Plan)

The role directly manages PSS capability leaders embedded in the organization, represent CH NA region in Global OE (Operational Excellence) team, manages the training specialist supporting the operating departments, is a full member of the Plant Site Leadership Team, leads problem solving workshops, and leads influence across the site departments – functions to lead PSS phase progress with the ultimate goal to become a level 4 (top performing) plant

 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Sr Operating Efficiency (OE) Site Head & Capabilities Leader, are to:

 

SITE LEADERSHIP TEAM

• Full member of the Plant Site Leadership team leading the strategy, culture, KPI performance, and transformation of the largest Bayer CH factory
• Collaborate to deliver the site master plan and long-term strategy
• Lead Continuous Improvement Culture transformation
• Lead the site Training function to support the operating departments
• Provides direction related to PSS specific communications

 

SITE STRATEGY

• Partner with the Plant Site Head to lead the development of the annual site strategy development process (Hoshin). Site “Current Business Need” definition and deployment, and building a multi-year capability journey map
• Drives Product Supply System E2E Supply Chain implementation strategy influencing site function heads with collaboration with Global OE team

 

PSS PHASE PROGRESSION

• Lead the CH US PSS Phase Progression with Site Pillar Leaders, Site Function Heads, and Culture Team with support from Global OE team. This should start with a gap analysis of current capability across the pillars, compare to the next phase pillar requirements, gap analysis, recommendation on phase progress approach for alignment with Site Leadership Team
• Coach PSS Pillar leaders to deliver requirements to achieve next phase progression journey step
• Providing governance for the Myerstown Site continues improvement programs and processes, including monitoring critical KPIs
• Responsible for the Site Operational Excellence program including OE organization, site scorecard, and LEAN methodologies

 

REGIONAL – GLOBAL PSS TEAM

• Represent Myerstown site in the Global OE Team
• Benchmark capabilities – phase progress across sites – regions to build reapplication insights
• Collaborate to build the PSS Advancement Pillar content for deployment & own a pillar for the global team
• Collaborate and elevate best practices from Region NA (including Myerstown and Whippany SCM)  for visibility and scalability

 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

• Lead short/long term improvement project using PSS and LEAN toolkit. This will require leading multi-functional teams from ideation, through problem solving tool usage, through completion of improvement and KPI transformation
