Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 25 weeks of military technical training school, along with an additional thirteen years of related experience is required. OR, two years of directly related non-military technical trade school or the equivalent experience, along with an additional thirteen years of related experience is required. OR, Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or the equivalent experience, along with an additional nine years of related experience is required. Industry certifications are highly preferred.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Rescue 21 Principal Field Support Representative in the Phoenix, AZ area.
Rescue 21 Field Service Representative Flyer who installs and repairs equipment; instructs customers in equipment operation; provides technical assistance; checks equipment for malfunctions. Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommends actions to company or customer representatives for coordinative product solution. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Conducts technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives. Acts as local on-site representative to customer's organization.
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Field Support Representative (FSR) based in Scottsdale Arizona with primary duties as an FSR Flyer to support US Coast Guard (USCG) Sectors throughout the United States. Employee will primarily provide flyer coverage for other FSR’s Rescue 21 Coastal locations. Candidate would be required to drive a company supplied vehicle to cover sites as required once in region. Expect travel up to and exceeding 50% of the time.
The selected candidate will be in the Scottsdale / Phoenix / Tempe AZ Area, when not travelling, works from home but may be required to visit a GDMS facility one to two days a week. The primary responsibility of this role is for equipment and system support of the Rescue 21 communication and direction-finding system at remote sites in USCG. The FSR will provide emergency repair response coverage and total system preventive maintenance coverage which will require driving and flying for site access. The successful candidate has detailed knowledge of system tactical employment and optimization and the ability to document failures and corrective action in accordance with proper procedures and methods. This role will act independently in most situations and will prepare and submit periodic status reports and inventories as required by operational procedures.
Field activities will include installing, maintaining, integrating, troubleshooting, testing and servicing of fielded systems/products at customer sites. The FSR will diagnose and repair any mechanical, hardware, software, or system failures using established procedures and submit reports on system reliability metrics to technical/regional support centers. Additionally, the FSR will set up and utilize specialized test and diagnostic equipment to isolate any malfunctions. Site and equipment inspections will also be completed to perform preventative and corrective maintenance. This position will work with more senior FSR's to plan and emplace system configuration to meet specific mission requirements, conduct technical seminars and training for customers, conduct informal on the job training for other field service staff members and customers, and over-the shoulder/refresher training to users in the field as required.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Conducts site and equipment inspections in order to perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Diagnoses and repairs mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures and submits reports on system reliability metrics to technical/regional support centers.
- Documents failures and corrective action in accordance with proper procedures, and makes technical recommendations based on this collective data.
